Guide to Shooting

Clay pigeon shooting is a great sport that can be enjoyed equally by both men and women from teenagers to 80 year olds. Guns don’t have the kickback some of you will have been led to believe. With correct instruction and low recoil cartridges you will hardly feel any kick and will experience great satisfaction when you hit your first clays. You will find it a challenging and exciting sport which is attracting many newcomers, some may only shoot occasionally and others who are drawn to shoot competitively may enter the many competitions that are run at shooting grounds throughout the year.

For beginners we offer a number of ideal targets to learn on including "Driven", "Going Away", and targets from our English Skeet Range which helps to develop swing and timing.  Concentration, determination and enthusiasm also come into the equation.   We can also offer some exciting sporting targets for more experienced shots.  To find out more  about the types of shooting that we offer see the Skeet & Sporting Targets section.

Safety is paramount and we stress safe gun handling throughout any shooting event. We also provide all the necessary equipment that you will need while shooting.

We offer a choice of 12, 20 and 28 bore shotguns.

Above all, Clay Pigeon Shooting is fun !  It offers a number of different types of clay targets. Combining different speeds and angles along with the different types and sizes of targets is what makes the sport so challenging. The targets might be crossing, climbing, incoming, outgoing, quartering away, streaking high overhead, or any combination of the above. Clay shooting is indeed a game that truly tests the shooter's abilities, hence the reason that Clay Pigeon shooting has earned the reputation as being the most fun that you can legally have with a shotgun.
